A room is not furnished.
It is composed — like music,
one considered note at a time.
ATLAS was founded on a single conviction: that the spaces we inhabit shape who we become. Our work begins not with materials or mood boards, but with a precise understanding of how a person wishes to live — the light they chase, the quiet they need, the memory they want a room to hold.
Each project begins as a conversation. It ends as a space that feels as though it could never have been any other way.
Every ATLAS project begins with a single day spent in silence — watching how light moves across the empty shell from morning to evening. The angles it finds. The corners it ignores. The warmth it leaves on stone. Only then do we start to design.
"We do not decorate rooms.
We choreograph the light inside them."
Before a single sample is ordered, the ATLAS studio assembles a full material board for every project — stone against linen against brass against oak, in the exact proportions they will appear in the room. The hand must verify what the eye imagines.
We work only with materials that improve with age: travertine that deepens, linen that softens, brass that patinas into something unmistakably yours.
"The best room is one where nothing calls for attention.
Everything simply belongs."
— ATLAS Studio, 2026
ATLAS was founded in London in 2014 by a small team with a shared impatience for rooms that try too hard. Over twelve years and forty-seven projects, that impatience has sharpened into a practice: work slowly, listen carefully, and never place anything in a room unless it earns its place.
Our projects range from single rooms to whole estates. The scale changes. The method does not. Every engagement begins with a site visit and a conversation, not a proposal — because a proposal written before listening is always the wrong one.
"A great room asks nothing of you.
It simply lets you be."
We have lived in many houses. ATLAS gave us the first one that felt like it had always been ours. There is not a room I enter that doesn't make me slow down.
They asked more questions in the first week than our previous designer asked in six months. By the end I understood my own home better than I did before.
We take on a limited number of new projects each year. If you have a space that deserves to be exceptional, we would be glad to hear about it.
